About me
Kate has always had a passion for teaching. After graduating from UW-Whitewater she spent four years teaching in primary grades on Madison’s east side while earning her master’s degree and 902 license. Interested in pursuing a career in a school library, Kate left the Madison schools and worked as an elementary school librarian in Verona for 11 years. In the fall of 2018 she returned to the Madison School District as a Library Media and Technology Specialist at John Muir Elementary. Kate believes in the power of the maker philosophy and continues to look for ways to embed making into her library program. When she is not not in the library, she spends her time reading, exploring, baking and making with her daughter.
